INTELLIGENT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

BSCDCL (Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation) along with Traffic Police has rolled out the Intelligent Traffic Management System. Under this scheme, the intelligent transport system is established under which traffic light violation, vehicle over speed detection, no helmet detection and triple riding detection is established. Arrangement of Traffic signals, surveillance camera and enforcement camera is also made in this scheme. The ITMS services will include strengthening of four key areas of traffic management & road safety within the city.

1. Develop a sense of order on the roads by efficiently prosecution of traffic violators, traffic law enforcement and spread awareness about the traffic laws
2. Develop ability to assimilate and Analyze Real Time Traffic Information and historic trends to support decision making on traffic management strategies.
3.Create linkages to support Information sharing through traffic controllers, Variable Message Signs, Public Address (PA) systems etc.
4. Arrangement is made to send e-challan to those who marked as violating the traffic rules.

We request you to share your views and feedback ways to improve traffic conditions within the city and help us suggesting the areas where red light violation and traffic signal, vehicle over speed detection, no helmet detection and triple riding detection arrangement should be established.

Amazing initiative!

One thing I'd like to suggest is to use Smart Traffic Lights or Manually Controlled Traffic Lights.

You see, at high traffic areas like Jyoti Cineplex Square, there are times when there is a huge amount of traffic in a single direction, but less in other directions. But both directions get only 20 seconds to pass through. This system should make sure that when there is huge amount of traffic in one direction, the traffic should get more than 20 seconds (sufficient time) to pass. And when there is less traffic, it should give less than 20 seconds to pass. This will prevent wastage of time, and make roads more efficient and traffic free. Sensors or human observation can be used to analyse traffic conditions.

Removing the timer which shows how many seconds one has to stop will also be helpful, as people always cross 5-10 seconds before green light. In its absence, they'll have to wait till the light is green.

Helmet should be compulsory and on two wheeler only 2 people. Strict fine for those violating the law.

Foregners ate hi yaha aur india ko kitna ganda bol ke jate hi. Mujhe sharm ati hi ki india jise sone ki chidiya kaha jata tha uska aaj aisa hal hi
